Yael Eisenberg

Hi! I'm a pure mathematician (PhD '25 Cornell) who is fascinated by data - particularly by how we can use mathematical tools to understand the world around us and make more informed decisions. For instance, since I moved to NYC I have been absolutely disgusted by the rat population. This soon became the topic of a project with the Erdos Institute where I developed a Python-based time series model to forecast NYC 311 rat sightings 14 days in advance. One conclusion is that in this particular domain, Staten Island wins. Additional helpful rat conclusions can be found on my github, here.

When I'm not running away to Staten Island or thinking about mathematical problems, I love designing and creating things with my 3D printer and laser cutter - mostly useful things (my favorite - so far - is a wine dispenser) and some cute non-useful things. Some of these things can be found here.

This year, I'm part of the MOST Fellowship with MoMath where I'm designing an interactive talk about tessellation and symmetry to engage middle school girls. The talk will be given at MoMath as well (date TBD).

Currently, I work for Mercor training AI to solve sophisticated math problems. It is doing so at an alarming pace.
